Entering Round 5 of the battles, Kinoko Otoko brought the next two contestants. Both were villains, and both had a need to cause pain: Darth Maul and Cell. The official account is as follows...

Explaining the rules to the contestants, Kinoko Otoko ascended to his platform, allowing the contestants to prepare themselves. "I am afraid that I must end this round quickly. Your defeat will enable me to continue my path to becoming perfect, " explained Cell, chuckling to himself. "Do not waste my time with idle talk. I am here for the simple reason of destroying you, " remarked Darth Maul, activating his double-lightsaber. Seeing that both were prepared, Kinoko Otoko announced: "Let the battle...BEGIN!". Immediately, Darth Maul sprung at Cell, slashing him in the right arm with the lightsaber. Jumping quickly, Cell came at Darth Maul with blinding speed, hitting him with a Ki Blast, which was deflected back at Cell with Darth Maul's lightsaber. Dodging the blast, Cell stopped, then powered up a Kamehameha, which he blasted at Darth Maul, sending him flying backwards several feet. As Darth Maul stood up, he saw Cell powering up a Destructo Disc, which he fired at Darth Maul. Using his Force abilities, he jumped high into the air, dodging the disc, then came down at Cell, slicing his right arm off with his lightsaber. Cell, merely laughing, regenerated his arm. Powering up a Special Beam Cannon, Cell fired it directly at Darth Maul, who blocked some of it with his lightsaber, but was hit severely, knocking him to the ground. As Cell walked over to him, he noticed that Darth Maul wasn't moving. Thinking he was unconscious, he began to place his tail on Darth Maul's neck. Suddenly, Darth Maul activated his lightsaber and swung it, slicing Cell's tail into three pieces. Jumping back, Cell regenerated his tail, only to feel himself being thrown backwards by Darth Maul's use of the Force. Getting up, he aimed a powerful Ki blast at Darth Maul and fired, slightly damaging himself, but to his amazement, Darth Maul was able to dodge it. Using a powerful Sith ability, Darth Maul unleashed a mass of lightning, which electrocuted Cell. Picking up the fried body using the Force, Darth Maul threw Cell high into the air, allowing him to drop onto Maul's lightsaber, impaling him. After letting him drop to the ground, Darth Maul laughed evily, spinning his lightsaber in a celebratory manner. Kinoko Otoko jumped down to inspect Cell, realized that he would not be in good shape for fighting, and announced: "The winner of this round is...Darth Maul!" Proud of his victory, Darth Maul returned to his master, Darth Sidious, who sent him on a mission to find Queen Amidala. Cell was sent back to the Cell games, where after a quick regeneration, he absorbed Android #18 and became Perfect Cell. Kinoko Otoko, happy at how such fighting could occur with such evil characters, left the Battle Plane, returning with his next two contestants.
